A Book is Born: 24 Authors Tell All by Nancy Cleary It's been an idea in the making for 3 years, and finally…it's here! In November of 2004, after 7 years in publishing, I imagined what MY first book would be. What did I have to share with the world? What was I an expert in? The answer was "the author experience." I provided more to my authors than books and marketing – I was a shoulder to cry on and a partner to dance with (even if virtually), I was a cheerleader and life coach, a business partner and friend. I wanted to capture this emotion, and all of the underlying truths of the life of an everyday mom writer turned published author. It was a big idea – I wasn't sure if I could do it – I planned to take a group of authors through the publishing process together and record their journey. And I'd add the most important technical "stuff" all writers who want to be published should know. Twenty-four months, and 24 books later, A Book is Born began to form as I compiled emails, blogs, and interviews from the Mom-Writers Publishing Co-Op. Look for it in bookstores November 1.
